Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 September 2026
These terms set out the rules for using Babela, the career platform at www.babela.net. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.
1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using Babela, you agree to these terms. If you use Babela on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that company, and “you” includes the company.
2. Who can use Babela
Babela is available worldwide. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under the law of the country where you live. You may not use Babela if we have previously closed your account for breaking these terms, or if the law of your country does not allow you to.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date, especially your work history, education and dates.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us straight away at babela.career@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- One person, one account. Do not create accounts for other people without their permission.
4. What Babela provides
Babela helps job seekers build a career profile, understand their career timeline, find and track jobs, and connect with recruiters; and helps employers post jobs and find candidates. Babela is a technology platform. We are not a recruitment or placement agency, and we are not a party to any hiring decision or employment relationship between you and an employer.
We keep improving Babela, so features may change. We will give reasonable notice before removing a feature you rely on, where we can.
5. Job listings
- Many listings on Babela come from employers’ own career pages and other public job sources. We show the posting date provided by the source, and we remove listings older than 20 days or that the source has closed.
- We do our best to keep listings accurate, but we do not guarantee that a job is still open, that its details are complete, or that applying will lead to an interview or offer.
- When you click “Apply” on an external listing, you leave Babela and apply on the employer’s own site under their terms.
- Never pay to apply for a job. Genuine employers do not charge candidates. Report any listing or recruiter that asks for money to babela.career@gmail.com.
6. Rules for employers
- Post only real, currently open positions that you are authorised to fill, with accurate details.
- Do not charge candidates any fee, deposit or payment at any stage.
- Follow the employment and anti-discrimination laws of every country where you hire. Do not discriminate on grounds prohibited by law, such as race, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age, in postings or in how you select candidates.
- Use candidate information only to recruit for the role concerned, keep it secure, and comply with the data protection laws that apply to you, such as India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the EU and UK GDPR, and US state privacy laws.
- Do not contact candidates for unrelated marketing, and respect a candidate’s decision to decline or ignore a connection request.
7. Your content
You own the content you add to Babela, such as your profile, resume, job postings and messages. You give Babela a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process and display that content only as needed to run and improve Babela, and to show it to others according to your visibility settings. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.
You confirm that you have the right to share the content you add, and that it is accurate and not misleading.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- give false information about your identity, qualifications or experience, or impersonate anyone;
- post fake jobs, scams, pyramid schemes or requests for payment;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
- copy, scrape or bulk-download data from Babela, or use bots to access it, without our written permission;
- try to break, overload or get around Babela’s security, or access accounts or data that are not yours;
- upload viruses or harmful code; or
- use Babela for anything illegal.
9. AI features
Babela uses AI to help with things like reading your resume, answering career questions (Bela) and suggesting how well you match a job. AI suggestions can be incomplete or wrong. They are guidance, not professional career, legal or financial advice, and you remain responsible for the decisions you make and the information you submit.
10. Your Babela email address
Job-seeker accounts receive an address at mail.babela.net for job applications. Use it only for your job search. Emails sent to it are received by Babela, shown in your Inbox and forwarded to your personal email. The address stops working when you close your account. We may block messages that look like spam or abuse.
11. Connected services
You can choose to connect Google (including read-only Gmail access) or GitHub. Those services are provided by their owners under their own terms, and you can disconnect them at any time in Settings. How we use data from them is explained in our Privacy Policy.
12. Fees
Babela is currently free for job seekers. If we introduce paid plans or features, we will show the price and terms clearly before you buy, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.
13. Babela's rights
Babela’s name, logo, design, software and content (other than your content) belong to Babela and are protected by law. You may use Babela only as these terms allow; you may not copy, modify or resell it.
14. Suspension and closing your account
- You can close your account at any time from Settings. We then delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or close an account, or remove content or listings, if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect users from harm. Where appropriate, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
15. Disclaimers
Babela is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that Babela will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any job listing or candidate profile is accurate, or that you will get a job or find a candidate. We do not check every listing or profile, and we are not responsible for the conduct of employers or candidates.
16. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Babela is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost opportunities, lost income or lost data, arising from your use of Babela. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹5,000 (or its equivalent in your local currency) if you have not paid us anything. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and some countries do not allow certain of these limits, so they apply to you only as far as your local law permits.
17. Indemnity
If you break these terms or the law while using Babela, and someone makes a claim against Babela as a result, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses Babela suffers because of it.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue within 30 days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved this way will be decided by the competent courts in India.
If you use Babela as a consumer and live outside India, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country where your local law gives you that right.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Babela after that, the updated terms apply.
20. Contact
